
Location
Field Studies Council Bishops Wood, Worcestershire. Situated close to the River Severn and Wyre Forest, with regular travel to learning locations in Birmingham for Urban Geography courses and activities in Birmingham Parks.
Hours
Permanent full-time contract – average 37.5 hours per week. Weekly hours will vary across the year, with busier and quieter periods.
Salary
Circa £27,350 per annum plus excellent benefits including generous annual leave, life assurance, and a health cash plan.
About the Role
Spend your days teaching outdoors at inspiring field study sites rather than in a classroom. You will work with primary and secondary schools, colleges, and universities delivering curriculum-linked activities that enhance students’ understanding of nature and the environment. Your responsibilities include developing, planning, and delivering courses on science and geography school trips, leading groups of all abilities in the local environment with a strong focus on health and safety. When not in the field, you will contribute to other aspects of running a busy education centre. This is an active and rewarding role that requires stamina and enthusiasm. The centre is surrounded by ancient woodland, a large pond, and outdoor learning areas featuring natural wood and willow sculptures. You will be part of a team dedicated to inspiring curiosity and care for the environment through outstanding outdoor education opportunities.
Experience
A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject and some previous experience in teaching or tutoring. Experience producing and preparing learning resources is also required.
