About the Role
Joining Sainsbury's as a Finance Manager - Technical & Sustainability means becoming an integral part of an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of our customers through high-quality, sustainable products. As a valued member of the Commercial Finance Team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive impactful business decisions and lead financial strategies that support our commitment to sustainability and excellence. Your role will focus on continuous improvement, collaboration, and personal development, playing a key part in shaping the future of the business within a supportive and fast-paced environment.

You will business partner with the Director of Technical and leadership team, independently driving key financial initiatives and opportunities to advance the Technical agenda. Your sustainability focus will include supporting the delivery and reporting of commitments related to Packaging and Animal Health and Welfare. You will lead cost centre management, budget processes, and provide financial support for legislative compliance on packaging usage and related taxes.

Additionally, you will be responsible for reducing manual reporting time through automation, delivering high-quality analysis, insights, and effective communication to influence strategic business decisions. You will actively engage and develop a network within and outside the Finance function. Success in this role requires advanced financial acumen, strong communication skills, and a passion for sustainability in a dynamic and challenging environment.

Experience
- Qualified accountant with recognised professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Proven business partnering experience with senior stakeholders, both verbal and written communication
- Commercial finance experience within an organisation comparable in size to Sainsbury's
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with effective time management and task prioritisation under pressure
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to translate financial information clearly for non-finance audiences
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, power pivots, and macros
