About the Role

As a valued member of the Commercial Finance Team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders to drive impactful business decisions and lead financial strategies that support our commitment to sustainability and excellence. Your role focuses on continuous improvement, collaboration, and personal development, playing a key part in shaping the future of the business within a supportive and fast-paced environment.
You will business partner with the Director of Technical and leadership team, independently driving key financial initiatives to advance the Technical agenda. Your sustainability focus includes supporting delivery and reporting of commitments related to Packaging and Animal Health and Welfare. You will lead cost centre management, budget processes, and provide financial support for legislative compliance on packaging usage and taxes. Additionally, you will reduce manual reporting time through automation, deliver high-quality analysis and insights, and communicate effectively to influence strategic business decisions. Building and developing a network within and outside Finance is essential. This role requires advanced financial acumen, strong communication skills, and a passion for sustainability to succeed in this dynamic and challenging environment.
Experience
- Qualified accountant with recognised professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Proven business partnering experience with senior stakeholders, both verbal and written
- Commercial finance experience within a comparable size organisation to Sainsbury's
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with effective time management and task prioritisation under pressure
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to translate financial information clearly for non-finance audiences
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, power pivots, and macros
