About the Role
Joining Sainsbury's as a Finance Manager - Technical & Sustainability means becoming an integral part of an innovative and dynamic organisation dedicated to enhancing the lives of our customers through high-quality, sustainable products. As a valued member of the Commercial Finance Team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders, driving impactful business decisions and leading financial strategies that support our commitment to sustainability and excellence. Your role will focus on business partnering with the Director of Technical and leadership team, independently driving key financial initiatives to advance the Technical agenda.

Your sustainability focus will include supporting the delivery and reporting of commitments related to Packaging and Animal Health and Welfare, managing cost centres, budget processes, and providing financial support for legislative compliance on packaging usage and related taxes. You will also lead efforts to reduce manual reporting time through automation, deliver high-quality analysis and insights, and communicate effectively to influence strategic business decisions. Building and developing a network within and beyond the Finance function will be key to your success in this dynamic environment.

This role requires advanced financial acumen, strong communication skills, and a passion for sustainability, all within a fast-paced and supportive working environment where continuous improvement and collaboration are encouraged.

Experience
- Qualified accountant with recognised professional certification (CIMA, ACCA, or ACA)
- Proven business partnering experience with senior stakeholders, both verbal and written
- Commercial finance experience in a comparable size organisation
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with effective time management and prioritisation under pressure
- Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to translate financial information clearly for non-finance audiences
- Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, power pivots, and macros
