About the Role
A leading waste management and recycling organisation is seeking experienced Fixed Plant Fitters to maintain, repair and improve fixed plant and mechanical equipment at a busy operational site. The role involves working on equipment such as conveyors, shredders, balers and associated plant systems to maximise reliability and minimise downtime. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose faults, respond to breakdowns, support emergency repairs, and assist with installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment. Working closely with engineering and operations teams, you will help improve equipment reliability and identify opportunities to enhance plant performance while maintaining a safe and compliant working environment.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Fixed Plant Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, Maintenance Fitter, Plant Fitter or similar role
- Strong mechanical and industrial equipment knowledge
- Experience with planned and reactive maintenance
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience with conveyors, shredders, balers or similar equipment is advantageous
- Experience in waste, recycling, manufacturing, aggregates, quarrying, heavy industry or similar environments is beneficial

Qualifications
- Relevant mechanical engineering or plant maintenance qualification is advantageous
