Our Sustainable Water Management Team are seeking Flood Risk Modellers to help deliver our national programme of work. Focusing on the delivery of flood risk management projects, you will have the opportunity to be a major contributor or lead for our external and internal clients. Our national fluvial and pluvial modelling team deliver flood modelling to support a broad portfolio of work including FCERM studies, major infrastructure projects (including working across the energy, transport, government and water sectors), and strategic studies. As a key member of the team you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our national hydraulic modelling team. You will be responsible for delivering and supporting technical oversight of projects to provide a range of flood risk management related services for government, local authority, private and major infrastructure clients as well as supporting the delivery of innovation in our sector.

A little more about your role…
- Work on fluvial and pluvial modelling projects including experience using flood modelling software e.g. Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, HECRAS or ICM
- Support flood modelling studies within our teams
- Scope and develop hydraulic modelling approaches
- Lead or support technical reviews of hydraulic models
- Prepare or support technical reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders depending on experience
- Support business development through identifying prospective opportunities and leading on the preparation of proposals
- Provide support or lead project, commercial and financial management for projects
- Client and stakeholder liaison

Requirements

Experience
- Proven track record in undertaking fluvial and pluvial hydraulic modelling
- Provide technical leadership in flood modelling within teams
- Experience of undertaking model reviews for statutory bodies
- Commercial experience, including project management and bid preparation
- Ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- Relevant experience delivering infrastructure projects or working with local authority/national government

About you
- Drive and ability to build client relationships and develop suitable opportunities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Commitment to chartership with a relevant professional body or willingness to work towards this within an agreed period

Qualifications
- Chartered status with a relevant professional body is desirable or commitment to achieve it
- Desirable experience includes GIS, FCERM studies, Flood Risk Assessments, knowledge of UK flood risk policy (NPPF and TAN15), and UK flood estimation methods
