About the Role
We are seeking a candidate with a suitable professional qualification and experience in forestry to undertake practical work supporting the delivery and management of 400 hectares of woodland and biodiversity sites across the borough. This role involves a variety of outdoor, physically challenging tasks across multiple sites. The postholder will monitor and coordinate contractor work and assist in arranging and running practical conservation activities for volunteers. This position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop and apply arboricultural and biodiversity knowledge and skills under the guidance of senior woodland and ecology habitat programme leads. The role requires the ability to work independently, use initiative, and undertake basic administrative and monitoring tasks. Training may be provided to cover COSHH, use of power tools, and other equipment necessary to meet health and safety requirements. The initial contract is for four years, with potential extension subject to funding, projects, and grants.
Experience
Professional qualification and experience in forestry is required. Practical skills in outdoor, physically demanding work are essential.

Must be able to work independently and use your own initiative. Ability to drive is required. You should be motivated to support conservation activities and coordinate contractor work effectively.
Qualifications
