About the Role

We are expanding our Ground and Water business and seek Geo-Environmental Consultants and Assistant Consultants to support contaminated land assessment and remediation projects. Key responsibilities include site work supervision and management of site investigations, field work such as soil logging, environmental sampling and ground gas monitoring, data collation and interpretation, support with site investigation design, and preparation of technical reports including desk studies, site investigation reports, remediation studies, and verification reports. You will ensure all work complies with procedures and the highest safety, health, and environmental standards.
The role involves a mix of office and on-site activities, including Phase 1 desk study research and reporting, Phase 2 site investigation design and supervision, soil sampling, subcontractor management, risk assessments, and client communication. You will work closely with project teams and contribute to delivering high-quality projects for private and public sector clients across various industries including property, government, energy, industrial, and nuclear sectors.

Experience
- On-site experience of site investigations and similar fieldwork
- Preparation of Phase 1 contaminated land/geo-environmental desk studies
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and managing site investigations
- Experience in soil logging
- Understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations in site investigations
- Knowledge of UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Familiarity with mine gas risk assessment processes
- Report writing skills with concise and accurate presentation of information
- Data handling experience; GIS knowledge is desirable
- At least 2 years post-graduate experience (for assistant level) in site investigations, groundwater and ground gas monitoring, sample collection, and contractor supervision; candidates will be assessed on merit

Qualifications
Relevant degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
