Key responsibilities include site work with supervision and management of site investigations, field work such as soil logging, environmental sampling and ground gas monitoring, data collation, review and interpretation, and support with site investigation design. You will prepare technical reports including desk studies, site investigation reports, remediation studies, and verification reports, ensuring all work meets the highest safety, health, and environmental standards.
A typical week may involve Phase 1 Desk Study research and reporting, Phase 2 Site Investigation design, supervision, soil sampling, soil logging, subcontractor management, human health and water environment risk assessment, and reporting. You will adhere to best technical, engineering, and health & safety practices, communicate with clients and subcontractors, and work collaboratively within a project team.
The team provides land contamination management services to private and public sector clients across property, government, energy, industrial, and nuclear sectors. You will be supported in your professional growth by experienced colleagues, project managers, and directors, with access to networks and social activities to help you connect within the business.
Experience
- On-site experience of site investigation and similar field works
- Preparation of Phase 1 contaminated land/geo-environmental desk studies
- Knowledge of planning, designing, and management of site investigations
- Experience of soil logging
- Understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations in site investigations
- Knowledge of UK land contamination regime and risk-based assessment approaches
- Report writing with clear and concise presentation of information
- Data handling skills; experience with GIS is desirable

Motivated and proactive individual with a passion for environmental consultancy and contaminated land management. Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, subcontractors, and colleagues. Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
Qualifications
Relevant degree in chemistry, biology, geology, engineering, environmental science, or a related discipline.
