About the Role
Butterfly Conservation is seeking a passionate, engaging, and dynamic individual to lead the delivery of the Glasgow Wild Spaces project, contributing to our ambitious 2021-2026 strategy to transform Wild Spaces in the UK for people, butterflies, and moths. This fixed-term role (2 years from January 2026) involves creating and managing habitats across Glasgow in partnership with Glasgow City Council, schools, community groups, and volunteers. Key activities include establishing 15 Wild Spaces in public parks, creating 13 Wild Spaces in school grounds, advising 20 community groups/schools on Wild Space creation and management, and delivering engagement and training events.

The role requires overseeing the project budget, managing contractors, preparing training and support for volunteers, creating engagement and learning resources, and working closely with colleagues and volunteers to ensure successful project delivery. You will also support funder reporting, identify local suppliers, and help publicise the project with the Communications Team.

This role promotes Butterfly Conservation’s values of Excellence, Passionate, Inspiring, and Collaborative, and requires compliance with equal opportunities and organisational policies. Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme managed by Disclosure Scotland is mandatory before employment. The successful candidate will have the right to work and reside in the UK.
