About the Role
Join Southern Water as a Graduate Environmental Advisor and apply your academic knowledge to real-world environmental challenges. Working within the Enabling Team of Engineering Technical Services (ETS), you will support the delivery of clean water and wastewater projects from design through to construction. Your role will involve managing environmental risk, conducting field surveys, and identifying opportunities to enhance both the natural and built environment. Responsibilities include supporting environmental risk management across a wide range of engineering and infrastructure projects, carrying out environmental surveys and assessments with accurate reporting, contributing to practical solutions to manage environmental risk and ensure compliance, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Ecologists, and Environmental Advisors, supporting stakeholder engagement and regulator relationships, assisting in the design and implementation of mitigation strategies, and travelling to sites across the region. This role offers a mix of field and office-based work, sometimes outside of standard hours, requiring flexibility and a proactive approach.

Experience
Ideally at least one year of experience in a similar role or through a relevant placement.

Qualifications
A Master’s degree and a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline are required. Eligibility to live and work in the UK must be demonstrated with appropriate documentation during the recruitment process.
