About the Role
Cundall's leading Sustainability & Building Physics team is a key part of our international business. As a recognised leader in sustainability worldwide, our team is committed to designing innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. We are looking for passionate graduates to join us and help make a positive impact on the environment and improve homes, offices, industry, and communities.
Joining our Sustainability Team means working on innovative and award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia's first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest bio-medical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for talented sustainability graduates to work on some of the most exciting sustainable design projects in the UK and internationally. Under the guidance of experienced professionals, you will develop your skills in energy modelling and assist in creating energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings.
You will be involved in projects across various workstreams including:
- Building physics and parametric model services
- Building performance and operational energy optimisation
- Certification and compliance
- Health and wellbeing advice and guidance
- Net zero and whole life carbon services
- Sustainability design and ESG services
As your skills develop, you will have opportunities to take on greater responsibility and autonomy, supported by accredited training schemes to work towards professional Chartership.
Please note this position is to start in September 2026.
Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Desirable to be accredited with or on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree in Sustainable Engineering, the Built Environment, or equivalent.
Demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort, and natural ventilation.
Working knowledge of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation using TM54, sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, and life cycle carbon costing is beneficial.
Understanding of Parametric Modelling Techniques (e.g. Grasshopper or Dynamo) or proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) is desirable.
About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines.
Collaborative with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to empathise with clients and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Proactive, able to use initiative to overcome challenges, and maintain a positive, can-do attitude.
Qualifications
On track to achieve a relevant degree as outlined above.
