About the Role
Join Cundall's leading Sustainability & Building Physics team, a key part of our international business and a recognised leader in sustainability worldwide. This position is to start in September 2026. Our team is passionate about designing innovative, sustainable, and energy-efficient solutions that minimise the use of natural resources. As a Graduate Sustainability Engineer, you will have the opportunity to contribute to award-winning projects such as the Hong Kong Science Park, Australia's first 6 star Green Star community, and the largest bio-medical precinct in the Southern Hemisphere.

You will work under the guidance of experienced professionals, developing your skills in energy modelling and assisting with energy and sustainability strategies for new and existing buildings. Your work will span multiple areas including building physics, parametric modelling, building performance optimisation, certification and compliance, health and wellbeing guidance, net zero and whole life carbon services, and sustainability design and ESG services.

As you grow professionally, you will be supported to take on greater responsibility and encouraged to work towards Chartership through accredited training schemes. Benefits include a £1,500 joining bonus, a £2,000 bonus upon gaining chartered status, 25 days' holiday plus statutory holidays, and a flexible benefits package tailored to your needs.

Requirements

Experience
On target to achieve at least a 2:2 degree. Demonstrable knowledge and experience of building physics, particularly heat transfer, energy, thermal comfort, and natural ventilation. Experience or knowledge of climate-based daylighting analysis, operational energy calculation (TM54), sustainability rating tools such as BREEAM, and life cycle carbon costing is beneficial.

About you
Organised and methodical in managing tasks and priorities, with a strong ability to meet deadlines. Collaborative with excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to empathise with clients and work effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Proactive, using initiative to overcome challenges with a positive, can-do attitude.

Qualifications
Desirable to hold or be on course to achieve a BEng/MEng degree in Sustainable Engineering, the Built Environment, or an equivalent qualification. Understanding of parametric modelling techniques (Grasshopper or Dynamo) or proficiency in at least one modern programming language (e.g. Python, C#, VB) is highly advantageous.
