About the Role
Join Peabody’s Talent Pool as a Grounds Maintenance Operative and help keep our communities green, safe, and welcoming. You will maintain shrub beds through pruning, weeding, and leaf clearing using hand tools and machinery. Your duties will include cutting grass with hand-held and ride-on mowers, removing litter, leaves, and debris from landscaped areas—including bins and drug-related waste. You will carry out weed and pest control, graffiti removal, snow clearance, patrol parks, mark pitches, and check play areas for safety. Supporting tree maintenance and keeping waterways clean and clear will also be part of your role. You will be expected to follow health and safety procedures and wear all required PPE and uniform. Experience
Previous experience in grounds maintenance is required.

About you
You must be physically fit and able to carry out demanding outdoor tasks in all weather conditions. You should have clear and polite communication skills and be comfortable using a wide range of tools, machinery, and equipment. You may be asked to take on additional health and safety responsibilities such as Fire Warden or First Aider.

Qualifications
NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification in horticulture or grounds maintenance.
A current UK driving licence is essential.
Specialist knowledge of horticultural practices is required.
