About the Role
Join Peabody’s Talent Pool of passionate Grounds Maintenance Operatives and help keep our communities green, clean, safe, and welcoming. You will maintain shrub beds through pruning, weeding, and leaf clearing using hand tools and machinery. You will cut grass with hand-held and ride-on mowers, remove litter, leaves, and debris from landscaped areas—including bins and drug-related waste. Additional duties include weed and pest control, graffiti removal, snow clearance, patrolling parks, marking pitches, checking play areas for safety, supporting tree maintenance, and helping keep waterways clean and clear. You will be expected to follow health and safety procedures and wear all required PPE and uniform. Experience
Previous experience in grounds maintenance is required. Skilled in using a wide range of tools, machinery, and equipment. Specialist knowledge of horticultural practices is essential.
About you
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Physically fit and able to carry out demanding tasks. Clear and polite communication skills. Willingness to take on additional health and safety responsibilities if required.
Qualifications
NVQ Level 1 or equivalent qualification in grounds maintenance or horticulture. A current UK driving licence is required.
