About the Role
As the Grounds Maintenance Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day supervision of the Green Spaces Grounds Maintenance Team, ensuring all tasks are scheduled and completed on time to meet the agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) of the Green Spaces Service. You will undertake health and safety checks on team members, manage accident and near miss reporting, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with the Council’s Health and Safety Policy. Leading by example, you will promote good morale and working practices, ensuring all works are completed to the recognised standards as set out in the Service Level Agreement. This role requires a proactive approach to managing grounds maintenance operations while maintaining high standards of safety and service delivery.
Experience
- Proven experience in grounds maintenance or estate management
- Experience using grounds maintenance power tools and equipment, including ride-on mowers
- Experience handling public enquiries and conflict resolution
- Relevant land-based qualifications such as NPTC or equivalent
- Experience with PA1/PA6 certification

Qualifications
- Current driving licence
