As Head Gardener, you will manage a team responsible for expansive gardens featuring woodland, shrubs, mixed beds and borders, manicured lawns, ponds, car parks, hedges, paths, and hardstanding areas. You will provide supervision and guidance to your team, reporting to Glendale’s local Contract Manager and liaising regularly with the estate manager regarding seasonal plans and garden improvements.

This role is ideal for senior gardeners with proven staff and garden management experience and excellent attention to detail.

Experience
Proven experience in planning, scheduling, health and safety management, and record keeping. Confident in managing staff development and performance. Experience with a full range of garden machinery including hedge cutters, ride-on and pedestrian mowers, and blowers. Basic knowledge of arboriculture is beneficial.

About you
Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work outdoors. Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a small team. Basic computer literacy to manage records and processes efficiently.

Qualifications
Recognised academic horticultural qualification required. Spraying certification (PA1/6) essential. Full driving licence is mandatory. The successful candidate will require a UK DBS check/Government Security Clearance.
