About the Role
Are you a qualified horticulturist who enjoys working outdoors and is enthusiastic and motivated? This is an excellent opportunity to join Glendale, a leading green space management company and winner of BALI Employer of the Year, with revenues of £45 million. Glendale specialises in tree care, grounds maintenance, and landscaping, with green thinking at the core of everything we do since 1989.

The role is suited to an experienced and qualified Head Gardener to manage a team and oversee expansive gardens including woodland, shrubs, mixed beds and borders, manicured lawns, ponds, car parks, mixed hedges, paths, and hardstanding. You will provide supervision and guidance to a small team, reporting to Glendale’s local Contract Manager and liaising regularly with the estate manager regarding seasonal plans and garden improvements.

Experience
Proven experience in garden and staff management with confidence in planning, scheduling, health and safety, and record keeping. Experience with a full range of garden machinery including hedge cutters, ride-on and pedestrian mowers, and blowers is essential. Basic knowledge of arboriculture is beneficial.

About you
You are enthusiastic, motivated, and able to demonstrate effective staff development and performance management. A basic level of computer literacy is required to manage records and processes efficiently. A full driving licence is essential.

Qualifications
You must hold a recognised academic horticultural qualification and spraying certificates (PA1/6). A UK DBS check or Government Security Clearance will be required for the successful candidate.
