This role reports to the Associate Director for Climate, Environment and Sustainability and includes line management of the Programme Manager - Transport and Mobility. You will work closely with government departments (DESNZ, DFT, DSIT), regulators (Ofgem, Ofwat, Ofcom) and industry to advocate for digital technology adoption that drives innovation, decarbonisation, resilience and new business models.

Key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership and oversight of policy work and stakeholder engagement, leading energy policy and regulatory advocacy, managing working groups focused on Energy, Water Digitalisation and Data Centre Energy, representing techUK at industry and government forums, collaborating internally across policy, events and communications teams, supporting AI-related programmes, and leading business development for the programme.

- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with regulators, government bodies (e.g., Ofgem, NESO, DESNZ) and industry partners

- Comfortable representing an organisation at external events and forums
- Ability to work effectively across teams and programmes
- Enthusiastic about shaping policy at the intersection of technology and energy

Qualifications

- Experience in infrastructure or digital infrastructure programme delivery with policy and regulatory knowledge is advantageous
- Direct experience within a government department or regulator is a plus
- Familiarity with the economic, social and political environment affecting members and stakeholders
