As Head of Environmental & Sustainability (Rail), you will lead this journey by guiding our strategy and inspiring change across the Rail business. This role goes beyond setting direction; it is about embedding sustainability into the core of how we operate. You will bring vision and technical expertise, build capability, encourage innovation, and help our people feel part of the change.
In this role, you will:
- Develop and embed the environmental and sustainability strategy across the rail business.
- Build skills and confidence across teams to ensure consistent delivery and foster a culture of environmental excellence.
- Provide technical leadership, direction, and governance to drive performance, compliance, and innovation.
- Influence policy by collaborating with regulators, industry partners, and stakeholders.
- Support and advise senior leaders, protecting and strengthening the business through sustainable practices.

Experience
- Proven experience in setting and delivering environmental and sustainability strategies within complex organisations, preferably in Rail, Transport, or Infrastructure.
- Strong influencing skills with the ability to engage senior leaders and represent the business externally.

Qualifications
- Degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability Engineering, or a related field.
- Chartered Environmentalist status (CEnv) or equivalent professional accreditation.
