About the Role
Lead the future of Wild Places in Scotland with the John Muir Trust, the UK’s only charity dedicated solely to protecting Wild Places. You will lead property teams managing 25,000 hectares of iconic landscapes, including Ben Nevis and the Cuillin on Skye. This role combines practical land management with strategic leadership to showcase best practice in caring for Wild Places and inspire others across the UK. You will lead staff and contractors in day-to-day stewardship, delivering best practice in deer management, regenerative grazing, peatland and woodland restoration, path networks, wildfire response, and invasive species control. You will ensure each property demonstrates how Wild Places can flourish for nature, climate, and people. Working closely with communities, crofters, and partners, you will help the Trust remain a progressive and responsible landholder. You will also integrate visitor experience, volunteering, and engagement into land management activities and report on performance and outcomes that contribute to wider strategic objectives.
