About the Role
Elgin Energy is seeking a dedicated Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Advisor to join our dynamic team. You will focus on ensuring the highest standards of HSE throughout our project pipeline, from development through construction to energization. Your primary responsibility is to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, promoting a safe working environment for workers, contractors, suppliers, consultants, and other stakeholders. This includes conducting thorough risk assessments and advocating for the safest and most efficient approaches aligned with legal requirements, codes of practice, and our organizational HSE system.
Key responsibilities include developing and implementing HSE documentation in line with UK legislation and ISO standards, providing advice to management and workers to promote a positive HSE culture, planning and setting realistic HSE objectives, auditing and reviewing system performance to drive continuous improvement, and conducting risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards.
You will monitor compliance through regular site inspections, coordinate with Construction Project Managers to ensure safe contractor activities under CDM 2015 regulations, supervise the use of protective equipment, and ensure accurate reporting and investigation of HSE incidents. Additionally, you will deliver training programs, develop emergency plans and drills, liaise with regulatory authorities, participate in HSE meetings, maintain accurate records, and report HSE KPIs monthly.

Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of Health & Safety experience within the construction industry, preferably on large-scale energy or HV projects
- Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and delivering health and safety training
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, regulations, and standards
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems
- Experience managing HSE aspects in the renewable energy sector in the UK is essential

Qualifications
- Relevant third-level qualification in health and safety management, environment, engineering (construction sector), or related field
