Salary
£62,000 - £75,000 per annum (depending on knowledge and experience), plus annual bonus, benefits, and car allowance
About the Role
At Mars, safety and sustainability are integral to how we operate every day. As our Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Manager, you will play a critical role in protecting our Associates and the environment. You will lead initiatives to manage and reduce risk, drive impactful HSE projects, and ensure our site consistently meets Mars’ high standards and local regulatory requirements. Partnering across functions, you will strengthen our culture of health, safety, and environmental care. Your responsibilities will include providing expert guidance, leading audits, engaging with regulatory bodies, and supporting serious incident investigations to ensure preventive actions are implemented effectively. This role offers the opportunity to influence and enhance site safety and environmental performance while supporting the Mars Supply Excellence safety pillar.
Experience
- Proven experience working in a factory environment in an operational or technical role is desirable
- Experience maintaining quality, safety, or environmental management systems
- Ability to maintain professional working relationships at all levels within and outside the company

- Strong leadership and coaching skills to promote an engaging HSE culture
- Excellent planning, organizing, and project management abilities
- Skilled in action planning, data collection and analysis, and risk and issue management
- Proactive and committed to continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental performance
Qualifications
- Higher level qualification in science, mechanical or electrical engineering (HNC/HND/Degree)
- NEBOSH Certificate or Diploma required
- IEMA Certificate is preferable
- In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety & Environment legislation
