About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Health Safety & Environmental Manager to join our Management Team at Pilgrim's Europe, Ballymena, supporting and driving the site in Health, Safety and Environmental performance. This is a management role within our Poultry Business Unit and part of the leadership structure responsible for Health, Safety and Environment practices, compliance, and governance. The purpose of the role is to instil ownership and accountability across all functions by embedding the Go For Zero HSE business standards through regular inspections.
Key responsibilities include being a champion for safe and sustainable operations every day, leading by example and promoting safety across all functions, advising and coaching management on environment, health and safety matters, and supporting the development and deployment of the HSE strategy aligned with site goals. You will roll out HSE tools provided by the Central function, communicate effectively with key internal and external stakeholders, complete internal inspections and audits (including ISO 45001, 14001, Insurance Inspections), and support the Central HSE function on audit programs.
Additional responsibilities include ensuring all team members have appropriate training and resources to work safely, maintaining compliance with Central Risk frameworks and documented processes, managing incident recording and investigations in the Pilgrims Europe Incident Management system (Quor), and championing Central HSE systems to enhance safety standards.

Experience
- NEBOSH General Certificate, Level 3, or equivalent qualification or experience (essential)
- Experience in FMCG industry (essential)
- Experience in HSE, Safety, Environment within a chilled manufacturing company
- Understanding of HSE systems and enhancing site culture
- Understanding of audit standards and ability to influence change through positive engagement

Qualifications
- IEMA Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent qualification (desirable)
