About the Role
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity managing over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats, historic buildings, and monuments across eight Royal Parks in London, including Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park, and Bushy Park. We also manage other important public spaces such as Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. These iconic green spaces attract tens of millions of visitors annually.
Help Nature Thrive (HNT) is an initiative funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery with £1.2M to tackle the global biodiversity crisis by making The Royal Parks more resilient, biodiverse, and connected to visitors. The initiative focuses on park conservation improvements, enhancing visitor learning, and collecting data to inform management practices.
As an Engagement Officer, you will join the HNT Team on a full-time basis until 30th September 2026, supporting increased participation, volunteering, and communication across the Royal Parks. You will work closely with park teams, local councils, and key stakeholders to identify new target groups and develop nature-focused engagement opportunities for diverse community groups and individuals. You will also promote Help Nature Thrive to park visitors, volunteers, and the general public.
Your responsibilities will include developing resources and activities for public events, managing engagement volunteers, keeping detailed records of expenditure, and maintaining budgets and financial records.
