About the Role
The Royal Parks (TRP) is a charity managing over 5,000 acres of diverse parkland, rare habitats, historic buildings, and monuments across eight Royal Parks in London, including Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, The Green Park, St James’s Park, The Regent's Park and Primrose Hill, Greenwich Park, Richmond Park, and Bushy Park. We also manage other important public spaces such as Brompton Cemetery and Victoria Tower Gardens. These iconic green spaces attract tens of millions of visitors annually.
Help Nature Thrive (HNT) is an initiative funded by the People’s Postcode Lottery with £1.2M to tackle the global biodiversity crisis by making The Royal Parks more resilient, biodiverse, and connected to visitors. It aims to deliver conservation improvements, enhance visitor learning, and collect data to inform park management.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Engagement Officer to join the HNT Team on a full-time basis until 30th September 2026, subject to funding. In this role, you will support increasing participation, volunteering, and communication across the Royal Parks. You will work closely with park teams, local councils, and key stakeholders to identify new target groups and develop nature-focused engagement opportunities for diverse community groups and individuals.
Your responsibilities will include developing resources and activities for public events, managing engagement volunteers, keeping detailed expenditure records, and maintaining budgets and financial records. This role offers hybrid/agile working options and is supported by a comprehensive benefits package including pension, private medical insurance, employee assistance programme, learning and development opportunities, cycle to work scheme, and more.
This is a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital environmental initiative while working amidst some of London’s most beautiful green spaces and developing your expertise in programme and project delivery.
