About the Role
Join AQA as a Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Advisor and play a pivotal role in shaping the HSE experience across a multi-site business. You will support the delivery and development of high-quality, legally compliant, and customer-focused health, safety, and environment services that directly impact the wellbeing of colleagues and contribute to AQA's mission of advancing education for learners of all abilities. Reporting to the Group HSE & Business Continuity Manager and working closely with the Head of Workplace Experience and Sustainability, you will be part of a highly engaged Workplace team.

This role involves delivering a comprehensive HSE advisory service, implementing and auditing HSE policies and risk assessments, supporting sustainability initiatives, and onboarding subsidiary businesses into HSE Management Systems. You will provide expert advice on high-risk activities, conduct investigations and audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of HSE practices across the organisation.

Requirements

Experience
Proven experience in a senior HSE role with extensive knowledge of Health, Safety and Environment management systems. Experience as an HSE Advisor with the ability to hit the ground running is essential. Experience in auditing, risk assessments, investigations, and compliance monitoring is required.

About you
Highly organised with excellent data and programme management skills. Strong communication skills, both written and oral, with a continuous improvement mindset. Ability to manage multiple workstreams, resolve issues using sound judgement, and work independently as well as part of a team. Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Willingness and ability to travel between AQA offices as required. A proactive and customer-centric approach with attention to detail and ownership of processes.

Qualifications
NEBOSH National Diploma in Occupational Safety and Health or NEBOSH General Certificate with relevant extensive health and safety experience is required.
