As our Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Advisor, you will be the driving force behind creating a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure Howden meets all current and future statutory HSE requirements and maintain the HSE management system to achieve continuous certification to ISO14001, OHSAS18001/ISO45001 and customer supplier standards.
- Lead and facilitate internal and external audits and inspections, managing non-conformances and corrective actions.
- Support supply chain HSE supplier approval and management processes, including audits at supplier sites.
- Collaborate with managers to provide technical HSE advice and ensure compliance with moral, legal, corporate, and contractual obligations.
- Identify and mitigate HSE risks, ensure risk assessments and occupational health/environmental monitoring regimes are in place.
- Oversee accident, incident, and near miss reporting and investigations to promote organisational learning.
- Manage the Occupational Health Screening Programme, including supplier management and employee screening.
Travel:
The role is based in Peterborough with occasional travel to other Group facilities, customer sites, and international locations as required to support initiatives and operations.
Experience
- Proven experience in health, safety, and environmental management within engineering, manufacturing, or similar technical environments is advantageous.
- Hands-on experience leading audits, investigations, and HSE improvement projects.
- Skilled in risk identification, solution implementation, and compliance with UK legislation and ISO standards.

Qualifications
- Qualified in health, safety and environmental management (NEBOSH, IOSH, IEMA) or equivalent experience demonstrating competence.
- Background in engineering or manufacturing environments is a plus but not essential.
