About the Role
Reporting into the HSE Manager for Cement & Packed Products, the successful Health & Safety Advisor will support, advise and review HSE practices at a site level to prevent incidents, injuries, operational losses and occupational health issues. You will provide constructive feedback from a site perspective to the site management team and HSE line manager.

Key responsibilities include:
- Playing a key role in developing, delivering and monitoring the site's HSE strategy
- Providing expert advice and support on all safety and health matters
- Maintaining the site H&S Management System to ISO 45001 requirements
- Undertaking inspections and audits of the site to ensure consistent application of internal standards and legislative requirements
- Producing reports with suggested recommendations and trend data
- Managing the communication and rollout of H&S initiatives, campaigns, new standards and procedures
- Challenging and supporting line management to ensure thorough incident investigations with root cause analysis and suitable corrective actions
- Reviewing site incident statistics (leading and lagging) to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Developing and implementing HS&E campaigns, safety days and continuous improvement plans in agreement with the HSE Manager

Please note this role is a fixed-term position.

Experience
- Experience in a similar Health & Safety Advisor role within a relevant sector
- Experience applying processes tailored to business needs, such as incident investigation and mitigation
- Proven knowledge of relevant legislation and experience dealing with regulatory bodies
- Understanding of ISO 45001 and its practical application

Qualifications
- NEBOSH Certificate
