About Health, Safety & Environment and the Role
The Health & Safety team ensures safe working environments for all THG employees and visitors by managing risks, completing audits, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and environmental legislation. The team also safeguards the business from financial and reputational damage by achieving and maintaining legal environmental compliance.
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health and Safety Advisor to support day-to-day health, safety, and environmental activities based at our Head Office - Icon 1, with occasional travel to other THG sites as required. This role is key in promoting a strong safety culture on-site, ensuring all employees operate safely, compliantly, and in an environmentally responsible manner.
You will work closely with operational senior leadership and site teams to carry out risk assessments, deliver training, conduct inspections, and provide practical HSE advice on the ground.
Key Responsibilities
- Support implementation of site-specific HSE policies and procedures
- Conduct regular workplace inspections and audits to ensure compliance with legal and company standards
- Assist with risk assessments, safe systems of work, and permit-to-work processes
- Help investigate incidents and near-misses, ensuring accurate reporting and follow-up of corrective actions
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote safety awareness
- Maintain accurate HSE records, including incident logs, training registers, and inspection reports
- Monitor the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure availability and compliance
- Support the HSE Manager in preparing reports and contributing to monthly HSE performance reviews
- Engage with employees on safety initiatives and encourage proactive hazard reporting
- Stay up-to-date with HSE legislation and best practice to advise operational teams effectively

Experience
- Previous experience in an HSE role within an office environment is essential.
- Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and risk management principles.
- Confident in delivering training and briefings to small groups.
- IT literate with experience using Microsoft Office and HSE management systems.
