About the Role
This critical role within RWE Renewables UK Management Ltd offers the opportunity to oversee Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) activities during the preparation and implementation of decommissioning activities in Offshore Wind. You will act as the central subject matter expert for all CDM 2015-related topics across Offshore Wind projects in development, construction, and decommissioning phases. As the HSE Manager - Offshore Projects (Decommissioning & CDM), you will operate as an independent HSE expert, promoting cultural engagement and contractor collaboration while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards. You will implement robust risk management practices aligned with RWE's strategic goals, upholding the company’s commitment to sustainability, safety innovation, and operational excellence.
Your responsibilities include fulfilling the role of Project HSE Manager within active decommissioning projects through concept, development, execution, and completion phases. You will provide professional HSE consultancy to project teams, ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and internal guidelines. You will produce, review, and update HSE-related documents such as risk assessments and safety and environmental management plans tailored for decommissioning activities. Supporting the development and implementation of the WeCare HSE Management Systems specific to decommissioning will be key.
Additionally, you will employ stakeholder mapping and communication strategies to ensure transparency and collaboration with internal and external parties. Acting as the central subject matter expert for all CDM 2015 (Construction Design and Management Regulations) matters within Offshore Wind projects, you will serve as the primary advisor on CDM compliance across development, construction, and decommissioning projects. You will provide guidance to Project Directors and Project HSE Managers on CDM roles, responsibilities, and implementation strategies to enable legally compliant and safe project execution. Furthermore, you will be the central point of contact for the UK Construction Organisation on all UK-specific compliance requirements, ensuring alignment with corporate governance, legal obligations, and project delivery standards.

Experience
- In-depth knowledge of UK CDM 2015 Regulations and their application across offshore wind projects including development, construction, and decommissioning phases
- Proven experience liaising with UK Construction Organisations and regulatory bodies on compliance and governance
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders
- Strong leadership and project management skills with experience managing conflicting priorities
- Experience applying offshore wind HSE principles and requirements to decommissioning activities
- Skilled in preparing detailed reports and delivering presentations on technical and regulatory topics
- Highly detail-focused, analytical, and capable of making sound decisions in complex, changing environments
