About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior HSE&S Professional II to lead our Health, Safety, Environment, and Security (HSE&S) activities at our Hazelwood site. This critical role ensures compliance with regulatory requirements, company policies, and ISO and corporate standards. You will drive continuous improvement in HSE&S performance, safeguarding our plant operations and maintaining our community's granted right to operate. Your proactive approach will help prevent financial losses due to incidents and promote a culture of safety excellence.

Key responsibilities include overseeing operational compliance through inspections, internal audits, and adherence to regulatory duties. You will develop and support Process Hazard Analysis, health, safety, environment, and process safety programs, deliver training initiatives, conduct audits, and ensure plant procedures align with company policies and standards. You will keep senior management informed of significant changes in HSE&S regulations and issue reports as required.

This role also involves maintaining documented HSE&S systems and fostering effective communication with internal managers, co-workers, and external contacts such as authorities, emergency services, consultants, neighboring factories, and the chemical association. Reporting to the UK HSE Manager, you will supervise HS&E support staff, employees, and contractors on site, inspiring and driving excellence in HSE&S practices across the organization.

Requirements

Experience
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Health, Safety, and Environmental roles with a strong knowledge of HSE regulations and technical processes.

Proactive and results-oriented professional with excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Demonstrated ability to lead, inspire, and drive continuous improvement in HSE&S practices.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Science, Chemistry, or equivalent.
Additional qualifications in Health, Safety and Environmental Management and Process Safety are essential.
