About the Role
We are seeking a proactive HS&E Specialist to support and advance our commitment to a safe, healthy, and environmentally responsible workplace. This role will drive compliance with regulatory requirements, implement HS&E programs, and foster a strong safety culture across all levels of the organisation. You will partner with leadership and frontline teams to identify risks, develop and deliver training, monitor performance, and champion continuous improvement in health, safety, and environmental practices. As part of the Global Carbery HSE community, you will implement agreed global programs and lead the delivery of the site HSE plan.
You will organise, chair, and minute the Quarterly HSE steering meetings and monthly safety committees, generate HSE KPIs, and report on business and departmental performance. Working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, you will establish and maintain robust HSE processes, lead internal audits, develop risk assessments, and manage SOPs to ensure safety compliance. You will also oversee training compliance, manage accident and near-miss reporting including RIDDOR, lead emergency response planning, and handle contractor management and related safety services such as pest control, fire safety, asbestos surveys, and water risk assessments.
In addition, you will lead environmental management initiatives including energy and environmental awareness programmes, manage site legislative requirements for emissions and effluent, coordinate ESOS data submissions, and oversee packaging compliance. The role involves driving continuous improvement to achieve cost reductions and value additions in environmental disposal and utility consumption.
Experience
- Demonstrable working experience in implementation of Safety, Health and Environment programs
- Proven track record of achieving results
- Experience with internal HSE audits, risk assessments, and compliance management
- Ability to manage accident investigations, emergency response planning, and contractor safety management

Qualifications
- Degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related subject
- Knowledgeable in HS&E regulations and standards
