About the Role
Legal & General (L&G) is a leading UK financial services group and major global investor, committed to safeguarding people's financial futures and building a better society. We are seeking a strategic and collaborative IT Environment & Release Manager to join our Group Finance IT (GFIT) team. This role offers the opportunity to lead the management and support of non-production environments across the application estate, ensuring stability, control, and efficiency. You will define and maintain environment strategies, policies, and IT controls while coordinating environment usage, upgrades, and service levels. Collaborating closely with architects, you will align environment design with strategic goals and plan and manage release windows, cycles, and deployment activities. You will also advise project teams on environment configurations and best practices, publish KPIs and management information on environment performance, monitor incidents, analyse trends, and drive continuous improvement.
Experience
- Prior experience in IT Environment and Release Management
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools and integration
- Experience/exposure to DevOps and Agile methodologies
- Familiarity with release management tools such as ServiceNow, JIRA, Plutora, GitHub, GitHub Actions
- Exposure to Source/Version control tools, CI/CD pipelines, and branching concepts
- Good understanding of IT infrastructure and SDLC
