About the Role
Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd (JKSL) were the first company in the UK to offer tailored solutions for the eradication of invasive species using a dedicated single species approach. Since 2000, JKSL has led and innovated in the market. We are currently seeking a site-based Japanese Knotweed Technician to join our growing team immediately, with a flexible start date available if required.
The role involves a diverse range of duties that vary daily, including administering herbicide to various non-native invasive plants (training provided if needed), cutting and processing general vegetation, general manual labour on mechanical remediation projects such as installing root barriers, and operating dumpers and/or excavators (training provided if needed).
We offer an individual training budget of £1,000 per year to support your development, with the ambition for you to progress to foreman, capable of independently managing projects. The role may require working away from home with overnight stays nationwide; the company provides an overnight allowance covering accommodation and meals. A company vehicle will be provided for this role.
JKSL operates a stakeholder Pension Scheme for employees.
Experience
Experience within the invasive species or related industry is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided.

Qualifications
- Full driving licence (essential)
- CSCS Card
- Dumper and/or Excavator license
The following qualifications are advantageous but not mandatory as training will be provided over time:
- PA1 and PA6 Spraying Licence, PA6AW and other spraying licences
- Reasonable plant knowledge and interest in the environment
- Banksman and Catscan training
- Asbestos awareness, SSSTS, SMSTS training
- Chainsaw and chipper qualification
- Horticultural qualifications
- Health & Safety training such as IOSH or NEBOSH
