About the Role
Join Thames Reach as a Lead Worker within the STAR team, supporting vulnerable individuals to sustain tenancies and transition towards independent living. You will assess suitability of referrals, complete initial needs assessments and support plans, and provide practical resettlement support for people who may have never held a tenancy before. Your role includes offering advice on housing rights, benefits, income maximisation, education, training, and employment. You will work closely with housing providers and referral agencies to ensure tenancy sustainment and independence, liaise with specialist agencies such as drug treatment services and mental health teams, and provide person-centred support by co-producing plans to help individuals achieve their goals. As a Lead Worker, you will also support and guide support workers around casework and resource provision. Experience
- Understanding of the complex issues contributing to homelessness and their impact on individuals
- Ability to provide flexible and responsive support to people with complex needs and multiple disadvantages
- Experience supporting and overseeing casework practice of support workers, trainees, students, or volunteers
About you
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and partner agencies
- Knowledge and understanding of the needs and aspirations of people with experience of homelessness
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage conflicting priorities, deadlines, administrative tasks, practical support work, and risk management
