Pro rata to 22.5 hours per week - Regional £28,728 - £30,265, London £31,289 - £32,826 per annum (London salary applicable to candidates based in the London office a minimum of two days a week)
About the Role
Friends of the Earth is the biggest grassroots environmental campaigning community in the world, active in 75 countries with around 5,000 local activist groups and over 2 million members and supporters worldwide. We are seeking a passionate, proactive, and organised marketing and engagement specialist to join us in a busy, visible, and creative role. This is an exciting time to join as we roll out a new brand programme, strengthen our narrative as a trusted environmental justice organisation, and build on our successes fighting for people and planet.
This role is responsible for developing and delivering integrated marketing and communications plans that grow awareness of the Friends of the Earth brand among target audiences and help win campaigns by effectively engaging supporters and our grassroots network of groups. You will work closely with other Marketing Officers and report to the Marketing & Engagement Manager, collaborating across teams including production, Content & Creative, Campaigns, and Individual & Major Giving.
Experience
- Delivering integrated digital and offline marketing and strategic communication campaigns.
- Managing expectations and needs of multiple stakeholders, navigating differences to deliver excellent results to deadline.
- Gathering, analysing, interpreting, and applying audience insight from various research types.
- Knowledge of audience segmentation models and developing content to engage different audiences for supporter and donor acquisition.
- Commissioning creative content from in-house teams and external agencies to develop disruptive and inspirational marketing activations.
- Project managing marketing and engagement aspects of end-to-end campaigns, coordinating, negotiating, and maintaining budget oversight.
- Consulting and sharing subject matter expertise across teams and projects.
- Understanding the importance of brand building, especially via trusted corporate partnerships.
- Strong knowledge of communication channels to maximise campaign impact, including traditional media.
- Evaluating marketing activation results and applying learnings to improve future outcomes.
