About the Role
A leading waste management organisation is seeking experienced Mobile Plant Fitters to support the maintenance, servicing and repair of mobile and static plant machinery within a busy operational environment. The role involves a variety of mechanical, hydraulic and electrical maintenance tasks on equipment such as loaders, compactors, conveyors, shredders, balers and picking lines. You will carry out scheduled and reactive maintenance, diagnose and repair hydraulic systems, maintain and troubleshoot electrical looms and wiring, and complete mechanical and electrical diagnostics. The role requires effective repairs to minimise downtime, maintaining accurate equipment records, reporting equipment performance and faults, and working closely with operations and engineering teams to ensure equipment availability. All work must comply with health and safety procedures, including reporting hazards, defects and incidents, while identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.

Experience
- Proven experience as a Mobile Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic, Maintenance Fitter or similar
- Experience with heavy plant or industrial equipment
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems
- Experience with electrical wiring and looms
- Strong mechanical knowledge
- Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems
- Ability to respond effectively to breakdowns
- Experience with waste processing machinery, conveyors, shredders, balers or compactors highly desirable
- Waste management, recycling, construction or heavy industry experience advantageous

Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Plant Maintenance or equivalent preferred
