About the Role
Chichester Harbour National Landscape is seeking an experienced and dynamic Operations Manager to lead critical operational work and deliver new projects. Reporting directly to the National Landscape Director, you will play a pivotal role in conserving and celebrating the natural beauty, wildlife, and heritage of this nationally important site. As Operations Manager, you will provide leadership and hands-on support to our dedicated teams across ecology, education, farming, and countryside management. Your responsibilities will include guiding and developing teams to deliver excellence, overseeing operational performance, setting targets, and balancing competing priorities. You will drive the design and delivery of innovative conservation and access projects, ensuring they are impactful, on time, and on budget. Additionally, you will lead our journey towards net zero, starting with the delivery of a Climate Change Adaptation Plan. You will deputise for the National Landscape Director at senior management meetings and represent the organisation with partners and stakeholders. This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, strategy, and project delivery in a role that directly shapes the future of Chichester Harbour.
Why Join Us?
At Chichester Harbour Conservancy, we believe in excellence, collaboration, and empowering people to reach their potential. We offer 35 days annual leave (including public holidays), plus up to 3 extra days over Christmas, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), and access to the Vivup benefits scheme, including cycle-to-work.
Experience
At least three years’ proven experience as an Operations or Project Manager (or equivalent role), including line management of diverse teams. A strong track record of building and sustaining positive relationships with staff, partners, and stakeholders.
About you
Passionate about making a difference, able to inspire, innovate, and deliver measurable results. Comfortable thriving in dynamic environments and motivated by protecting nature and connecting people to it.
