About the Role
Westminster City Council has declared an Ecological Emergency and is committed to enhancing biodiversity, expanding green infrastructure, and building a more climate-resilient city. As Nature Projects Officer, you will play a key role in delivering the Ecological Emergency Programme and the Greening & Biodiversity Action Plan. This role offers a unique opportunity to combine project delivery with community empowerment to create a greener, healthier Westminster.
You will work closely with residents, community groups, local partners, and council teams to plan, coordinate, and drive nature projects forward. Engaging and inspiring communities to connect with nature will be a key focus, alongside supporting community groups to expand their impact.
You will ensure projects are well-coordinated and successfully delivered, making a visible difference for people and nature across Westminster. As our understanding of ecological and climate emergencies evolves, you will have opportunities to contribute new ideas and approaches to shape future greening and biodiversity initiatives.
The Climate Resilience, Parks and Green Spaces team is part of the Environment Department and works collaboratively with other services focused on engagement, environment delivery, biodiversity protection, waste, and cleansing. Together, the team delivers Westminster’s ambitions for a Fairer Environment, enhancing resilience, protecting biodiversity, and supporting community wellbeing.
This is a fast-paced and highly rewarding role where you will motivate the community and drive the realisation of a greener future.
