About the Role
Cambridgeshire County Council is seeking an inspiring and strategic Net Zero Programme Lead to accelerate the delivery of ambitious decarbonisation objectives across the Greater South East region. This fixed-term role, until 30th September 2026, places you at the heart of a dynamic and expert team where you will shape and oversee a pipeline of innovative local energy projects. Reporting to the Regional Director of the Net Zero Hub, you will lead a talented group of Project Managers and Officers, providing energy sector expertise to a wide range of organisations and stakeholders. Your leadership will be pivotal in building strategic partnerships, driving knowledge exchange, and maximising the impact of available funding.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee the delivery of the net zero investment pipeline for the Hub
- Lead, motivate, and manage a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-impact energy projects
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with public sector, private, and third sector partners, as well as industry bodies and academia
- Ensure robust programme management, quality assurance, and performance monitoring against KPIs and targets
- Identify and secure additional resources, funding, and innovative solutions to expand the scope and scale of decarbonisation
- Represent the Hub at senior level, sharing best practice and driving regional collaboration

Experience
- Proven experience in leading the development and delivery of local energy projects, including budget and performance management
- Strong track record in stakeholder engagement and partnership working
- Previous line management and contract management experience

Qualifications
