Non-Native Invasive Plant Surveyor / Project Manager


Location
Manchester, with travel across the UK and occasional overnight stays (accommodation and meal allowances provided).
Hours
Full Time - balance of travel and office work varies seasonally, working from Head Office (Bury) when not on-site.
Salary
£30,000+ starting salary, with potential increases based on experience and performance.
About the Role
Japanese Knotweed Solutions Ltd (JKSL) is the UK’s pioneering company dedicated to the eradication of invasive plants, leading the market since 2000. We are expanding our talented team and seeking a Non-Native Invasive Plant Surveyor / Project Manager to join our Survey Department. This is a unique opportunity to work in a specialised sector with a company that values quality, teamwork, and professional growth.
In this role, you will conduct site surveys across a variety of locations including national parks, major development sites, private homes, and heritage sites. You will prepare detailed survey reports and Japanese Knotweed Management Plans, create AutoCAD drawings, price projects, and contribute to tender submissions. You will attend pre-start meetings, liaise with clients and stakeholders, follow up leads, secure sales, and meet targets supported by a performance-based bonus scheme.
As you develop, you will manage projects from start to finish, collaborating closely with our Operations Department and Site Teams, building and maintaining long-term client relationships. You will be provided with training by experienced professionals to equip you to manage your own portfolio of projects by 2026. A company vehicle and fuel card will be provided for travel requirements.

Experience
Self-motivated, reliable, and punctual with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Confident in Microsoft Office and some experience with AutoCAD. Full UK driving licence required.

Professional attitude with a willingness to learn. Good plant identification skills and general botanical knowledge. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable with travel and occasional overnight stays nationwide.
Qualifications
Desirable but not essential (full training provided):
- Relevant degree in environmental science, ecology, biology, geography, or related field
- Property Care Association CSJK qualification
- BASIS qualification
- PA1, PA6, PA6AW (or other spraying licenses)
- CSCS Card
- IOSH or NEBOSH Health & Safety certification
