About the Role

Enfield Council is seeking an Operational Delivery Manager for the Waste & Recycling Service, offering an exciting opportunity to implement, improve and monitor new and existing waste and recycling operations.
This role offers variety and the chance to use your skills in communication, adaptability, attention to detail, organisation and customer service to great effect. You will be part of a growing team, providing a high-quality service that ensures targets and standards are met. You will support the Head of Waste & Recycling Services in the efficient management and delivery of Waste & Street Cleansing Services for the London Borough of Enfield, as well as assist the Strategic Waste and Recycling Manager with the implementation of service changes.
You will provide efficient and competent performance management of the designated supervisory team to deliver excellent client and customer service. The role involves responsibility for day-to-day operations and managerial functions required to deliver a robust and effective front-line service. You will manage Supervisors proactively and directly, and indirectly manage front-line staff, monitoring and delivering customer-focused service outcomes while ensuring effective health and safety and welfare arrangements at all times. It is essential that employees carry out their duties in compliance with all legal requirements and Council and Service procedures.

Experience
Experience in waste management, ideally within front-line operations and managing a large staff complement in a customer-focused environment is essential. Proven ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and work effectively as part of a team is required.

You will be well organised with a positive “can do” attitude. Excellent interpersonal skills, a passion for the environment and strong communication skills are important. You must be adaptable, attentive to detail and committed to delivering excellent customer service.
Qualifications
Good knowledge of waste legislation and proficiency in Microsoft ICT systems including Excel, Word and Outlook are essential.
