About the Role
We are supporting an established environmental services organisation to recruit an Operations Administrator based in Barkston. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract supporting the day-to-day administration of a busy operational site. You will maintain accurate records, coordinate information relating to vehicles, customers, suppliers and materials, and support the smooth processing of operational and waste-related activities. The role suits an organised administrator confident with IT systems and Excel, who pays close attention to detail and can manage competing priorities in a busy operational environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day administration of site operations.
- Maintain accurate records relating to vehicles, customers, suppliers, materials and tonnage.
- Process and maintain weighbridge and operational documentation.
- Prepare and manage waste transfer and related documentation.
- Support the administration of material intake, processing and offtake.
- Assist with purchase orders and approval processes.
- Coordinate information relating to bulk and export vehicle movements.
- Liaise with drivers, transport teams, customers and suppliers.
- Monitor and communicate delays or operational issues.
- Assist with invoice queries by checking information against purchase orders and weighbridge records.
- Maintain accurate filing and electronic records.
- Produce reports and update operational information using Excel and other relevant systems.
- Follow company Health & Safety and environmental procedures.
Experience
Previous administration or operational support experience is essential. Experience in waste, recycling, logistics, transport or a similar operational environment is advantageous. Experience with weighbridge administration, waste transfer documentation, logistics or transport administration, purchase order administration, and using operational databases or reporting systems is desirable.
About You
You will have strong IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Excel, excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy, strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, and good written and verbal communication skills. You must be able to maintain accurate records and documentation, work independently while supporting a wider operational team, and demonstrate a reliable and proactive approach to work.
