About the Role
The Woodland Trust is seeking an Outreach Adviser to lead the successful delivery of its elements within Dartmoor’s Dynamic Landscapes (DDL) programme, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund. This partnership initiative aims to create more naturally resilient landscapes and connect people sustainably to place. The role involves project managing the Woodland Trust’s contribution to DDL, including liaising with internal and external stakeholders, managing budgets, and reporting to funders.

Key responsibilities include identifying and securing ancient trees, increasing restoration and sustainable management of ancient woodlands, integrating trees into farms to benefit both agriculture and nature, and providing advice and support to landowners directly and through consultants. You will manage relationships with partners and landowners to ensure successful project delivery.

The role also involves managing a volunteer network to record and verify ancient and veteran trees across the project area, including running events, training, and activities for young people. You will oversee contractors and consultants delivering landowner engagement and advice, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Advising landowners on funding schemes and ensuring appropriate funding mechanisms is also a key part of the role.

This position is mainly based in Dartmoor, South West England, requiring regular travel across the region. It is a full-time, fixed-term contract until December 2029. A company car will be provided.
