About the Role
We are seeking a Communications & Outreach Officer to lead the development and delivery of all communication and outreach activities for the PEAT+ Project. This ambitious and collaborative project highlights the vital role of peatland restoration in environmental recovery as well as peace and reconciliation. You will work closely with the PEAT+ Project Director and partner organisations to ensure consistent, impactful messaging across media platforms, publications, events, and digital channels. Your efforts will raise public and stakeholder awareness of the importance of peatlands, their restoration, and the benefits they provide. This role is supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB). The position is full-time and fixed-term until 30 June 2029, with the possibility of renewal. Access to the employer’s contributory pension scheme is provided, with a maximum contribution of 10% per annum.
Experience
Proven experience in communications, outreach, or a related field, ideally within environmental or conservation projects. Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders and managing integrated messaging across various platforms is essential.

You are an effective communicator with strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. You have a passion for environmental issues, particularly peatland restoration, and are motivated by the opportunity to contribute to both ecological recovery and peacebuilding efforts. You are adaptable, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities to meet deadlines.
Qualifications
A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience in communications, environmental science, or a related discipline is desirable.
