About the Role
Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Peatland Technical Advisor to join our national Planning and Environment team. This is a unique opportunity to lead peatland restoration and management across Scotland’s national forests and land, contributing to climate change mitigation, biodiversity enhancement, and sustainable land use. You will provide technical advice for peatland restoration projects, working closely with regional teams, ecologists, and foresters to support large-scale initiatives funded by Scottish Government Peatland ACTION. Your role will also involve contributing to land management planning, infrastructure assessments, and national contract delivery, while promoting best practice across the organisation. Experience
Proven hands-on experience in peatland restoration, particularly forest to bog projects. Strong ecological knowledge and experience working on complex environmental projects.
About you
Confident communicator with the ability to work collaboratively across teams. Passionate about environmental conservation and sustainable land management. Able to provide clear technical advice and lead on best practice implementation.
Qualifications
Relevant qualifications in ecology, environmental science, land management, or related disciplines are desirable. Evidence of continuous professional development in peatland restoration or related fields is advantageous.
