Location
Based at Mourne Heritage Trust (MHT) offices, 19 Causeway Road, Newcastle with hot desk access at other locations and hybrid working by agreement. Occasional travel throughout the UK and Ireland will be required.
Hours
Full-time – 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some weekend and evening work will be required.
Salary
NJC Points 12-15; £28,598-£30,024 gross per annum. Appointment will be made at the first point of the scale. Contributory pension with employer’s pension contribution of 5% per annum.
About the Role
The Peatlands Conservation Ranger will play a key role in delivering peatland restoration projects as part of the PEAT+ project led by Ulster Wildlife and supported by PEACEPLUS. You will work closely with contractors, landowners, farmers/graziers, and other key stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery. This role requires excellent communication and organisational skills, experience working within a dedicated project team, and knowledge of field survey techniques using GIS software. You will be based primarily at the Mourne Heritage Trust offices with flexible hybrid working arrangements and occasional travel across the UK and Ireland. The position is offered on a fixed-term contract to 31st March 2029, subject to funding and includes a 6-month probationary period. Secondment opportunities may be considered.
Experience
Educated to Level 6 (Degree) in an environmental related subject. Proven experience working with contractors, landowners, farmers/graziers, and other key stakeholders. Experience working as part of a dedicated project team. Knowledge of field survey techniques using GIS software. Competent in Microsoft Office including Excel.

Qualifications
