About the Role
Amazon is seeking a Communications Manager to support its UK business with a focus on sustainability and community impact programmes and campaigns. Reporting to the Director of UK Communications, you will develop and deliver communication strategies that align with Amazon's sustainability and community goals. This role involves close collaboration with internal sustainability, community impact, operations, policy, issues management, and international communications teams. The successful candidate will be an experienced communications specialist capable of thriving in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, exercising exceptional judgement and working independently. You will manage UK-focused sustainability and community relations communications campaigns, covering areas such as transportation, energy, circular economy, shopping events, waste, packaging, and Amazon’s partnerships with community and charity organisations. Key responsibilities include developing strategic initiatives, creating messaging and speaking points, engaging with third-party organisations, proactive media relations, issues management, representing Amazon as a spokesperson, and ensuring alignment with international communications efforts.

Requirements

Experience
- Proven experience in professional communications or public relations
- Extensive experience managing UK-focused sustainability or community relations communications campaigns
- Strong media relations, influencer and stakeholder engagement, and corporate communications background
- Skilled in using data and insights to drive planning and measurement
- Experience with paid media and integrated communications approaches
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work independently under tight deadlines
