We are seeking an Associate or Principal Geo-environmental Consultant to join our established London team. You will play a pivotal role in driving project success, nurturing talent, and growing our business as a team leader in the London office. Our projects include a diverse range of development schemes for developers, house builders, and contractors such as Stansted Airport, the Life Sciences campus in Stevenage, and Waterbeach, a former military barracks.
This role offers the opportunity to manage diverse projects, lead high-performing teams, contribute to strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence, inclusion, and innovation. You will be responsible for overseeing project delivery, guiding teams, and supporting business growth while maintaining high standards of quality and client satisfaction.
Experience
- Leading and managing geo-environmental ground investigation schemes of varying sizes with overall responsibility for delivery.
- Producing and reviewing ground investigation reports, contaminated land risk assessments, remedial strategies, remedial verification reports, and material management plans.
- Overseeing project finances including work in progress, debt, profitability, and resource planning.
- Applying quality management processes to ensure high standards.
- Engaging in business development and building external profiles to secure new work.
- Developing accurate resource plans and monitoring utilisation to optimise team performance.
- Mentoring, coaching, and supporting junior engineers.
- Contributing to recruitment, onboarding, and performance management processes within the team.

Qualifications
- A science-based undergraduate degree with significant post-qualification experience.
- Ideally chartered with a recognised professional institution (e.g., GEOLSoc, IEMA, or equivalent) or actively working under a recognised professional institution training pathway.
- Specialist knowledge in Ground Conditions and/or registered as a Qualified Person for the CL:AIRE Definition of Waste: Development Industry Code of Practice is advantageous.
- Ability to attain national security clearance is desirable due to some projects requiring this.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and leadership within the geo-environmental field.
